about serpa
David Serpa is a Marine Corps combat veteran, entrepreneur, author, and community advocate based in California. His journey began with a love of storytelling—writing and directing plays and even a feature film in his early years. A lifelong admirer of Shakespeare, David's creative spirit has always driven his work, both personally and professionally. David joined the Screen Actors Guild in 2007.
Inspired by his sister, a fellow combat veteran, David enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served as a machine gunner in the Helmand River Valley of Afghanistan in 2012.
After his military service, David transitioned into real estate, quickly building a six-figure business in his first year. He founded a high-performing team—100% of whom would go on to become six-figure earners and later became the co-owner of a real estate brokerage and escrow company.
David also launched Our Community, a real estate office and community hub that hosted events like Military Mondays, Women Empowerment Wednesdays, and Senior Sundays. It also served as a space for Spanish-language church services, stand-up comedy, and live hip-hop performances.
In addition to his professional and community work, David is a passionate musician. He played guitar and fronted the band Prometheus & Mama Fancy with The Boot Band, performing at iconic venues like The Whisky a Go Go and various festivals in support of veteran causes and organizations.
David’s dedication has been recognized by Assemblywoman Melissa Melendez, Operation Silver Star, and the Los Angeles Dodgers for his service to veterans and the community.
He is the author of five books covering business, autism, and politics, including Common Sense for California. Outside of work, David enjoys reading,
camping, basketball, chess, and making music with his family.
